Your Child's Next Summer Project: the CHET Dream Big! Competition
Like most children, Jaden’s dreams and aspirations are pretty big. He has some chunks of his future life already planned out, it seems, and Roody & I always give him our full support.
When we heard about the CHET Dream Big! Competition, we decided it would be a great opportunity for Jaden to submit an entry for the possibility to be one of the 477 students to win a $529 CHET account. All he had to do was answer the question: “How have you or will you help the community?”
Now, we all know Jaden is a writer AND an illustrator, so this was a piece of cake for him. Add that to the fact that he is Super Jaden, the coolest super hero I know. Yeah, definitely a good idea for him to submit a little something-something.
This is a great summer project for kids with the potential for a big payout! They have two separate competitions for children in Grades K-8 and for the high school senior class of 2022. So, get your little one, grab some paper, and make a fun assignment out of it. Here are some key facts about the competition:
For Connecticut kids in Grades K-8
- The Competition will award over $250,000 in CHET account contributions 
- Entries can be in essay form, art (drawing, painting, poem, or photograph) or, new this year, a video 
- Deadline is September 22, 2021 
For the high school Senior Class of 2022
- $100,000 will be awarded to 80 students in the class of 2022. 
- Students will need to provide information on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, - and community service, and respond to the question, “What are your future goals to have a voice or - leadership role in your own community?” Submissions must be uploaded as an essay or video. 
- Deadline is September 22, 2021
