Your Child's Next Summer Project: the CHET Dream Big! Competition
Like most children, Jaden’s dreams and aspirations are pretty big. He has some chunks of his future life already planned out, it seems, and Roody & I always give him our full support.
When we heard about the CHET Dream Big! Competition, we decided it would be a great opportunity for Jaden to submit an entry for the possibility to be one of the 477 students to win a $529 CHET account. All he had to do was answer the question: “How have you or will you help the community?”
Now, we all know Jaden is a writer AND an illustrator, so this was a piece of cake for him. Add that to the fact that he is Super Jaden, the coolest super hero I know. Yeah, definitely a good idea for him to submit a little something-something.
This is a great summer project for kids with the potential for a big payout! They have two separate competitions for children in Grades K-8 and for the high school senior class of 2022. So, get your little one, grab some paper, and make a fun assignment out of it. Here are some key facts about the competition:
For Connecticut kids in Grades K-8
The Competition will award over $250,000 in CHET account contributions
Entries can be in essay form, art (drawing, painting, poem, or photograph) or, new this year, a video
Deadline is September 22, 2021
For the high school Senior Class of 2022
$100,000 will be awarded to 80 students in the class of 2022.
Students will need to provide information on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities,
and community service, and respond to the question, “What are your future goals to have a voice or
leadership role in your own community?” Submissions must be uploaded as an essay or video.
