Hi!

We're Larianne & Roody. Welcome to our blog :) We are two young Christian parents who have a YouTube channel and love to share our lives with the world. Enjoy!

Jaden's First Day of Kindergarten!

Jaden's First Day of Kindergarten!

Well, his first day was technically 2 days ago. But today is Jaden’s first day stepping into his school building as a kindergartener! We are super proud of this little boy.

I know that are lot of parents struggled with the decision of whether or not they should let their children physically go back to school with no vaccine and no cure for this horrible disease in sight. Since school closed in March, Roody and I have had countless conversations that ended with, “…there’s no way we’re sending him back to school! It’s not safe!”

But you know what? I watched Jaden’s mental health decline over the last few months. I saw how eager he was to learn. He kept mentioning his friend’s name at least once per day, asking about him and sometimes pretending that he and spoken to or seen him recently. I know what Jaden needs, and staying home to learn remotely full time is not it.

Let’s also talk about the fact that I have been in and out of grocery stores 300+ times since the end of March. Yes, I have counted. And also the fact that Jonathan has been in school since the end of July.

None of us has gotten sick. No one in Jonathan’s school has gotten sick.

So I feel like we might be on to something here. I’m just going to hold on to that little “might” with all my might, and I’m going to keep praying for the safety of everyone who has to enter that school building.

Jaden’s first day of remote learning was 2 days ago. It was a little stressful for us as the parents, but I know it was even more difficult for his teacher. Homegirl had to balance giving the kids online attention, and managing the kids who were sitting just a few feet away from her. I applaud teachers for taking the extra time to make the effort to teach our children and keep them safe.

I truly believe that as long as we all keep wearing our masks, washing out hands with soap, sanitizing the mess out of the things that we touch regularly, and keep our germs to ourselves, we will be alright.

Wishing you and your children a happy and SAFE school year!
