35 Things You Can Do This #GivingTuesday

35 Things You Can Do This #GivingTuesday

This blog post was inspired by the e-mail Charty: Water just sent me. That’s my favorite charity, in case you didn’t know. They sent out a VERY long list of ideas for tomorrow. I loved that so much that I decided to share some of theirs—with my own twist!

Stay-Your-Behind-Home Ideas

  • Send your sibling a photo of a puppy and tell them its unbearable cuteness reminded you of them.

  • Make a Spotify of Apple Music playlist and send it to your favorite dance partner, letting him/her know how much you look forward to dancing with him/her again when this is all over!

  • Schedule a virtual yoga or Zumba class that your fitness friend keeps advertising. Invite a stressed out family member to join you!

  • Turn off some lights, and unplug those electronics that you don’t use often. Save energy!

  • Leave a very encouraging comment under your friend’s small business post, and repost it to your story or Facebook page so others can see.

  • If you’re planning to buy anything, make sure you shop through your influencer friend’s link (so they get that comission).

  • That pile of laundry isn’t going to put itself away! How about you tackle that and have a solo dance party at the same time?

  • When was the last time you washed that reusable mask? Pick them all up and throw them in the wash.

  • Make a Top 5 list of movies that you KNOW your partner would love, and then let him/her select which one you will watch together.

  • Text that friend you haven't spoken to all year.

  • Set up a video chat with someone who lives alone.

  • Call your mother (if you’re blessed to still have her) and let her tell you all about her day.

  • When they arrive, express to your delivery people how much you truly appreciate all that they do.

  • When was the last time you ate out? Leave a really good review for at least 5 of your favorite restaurants on Facebook, Google and/or Yelp.

  • Is it your turn to wash the dishes? If it’s not, wash them anyway.

You-Got-Moneeeyy Ideas

These ideas by Charity: Water are so good, I just had to re-share them.

  • Venmo the student in your life so they can order delivery while they study for finals.

  • Buy coffee for the person in line behind you.

  • Pay for a stranger’s groceries.

  • Pizza. Someone in your life needs a pizza delivery.

  • Take care of your neighbors and donate to a local mutual aid or food pantry.

  • Deliver a round of hot coffees to the women and men working at a nearby construction site.

  • Help someone pay rent.

  • Does a teacher in your life need school supplies? Send that hero a gift card.

  • Your family member deserves flowers. (You know which one.)

  • Pick up a surprise dinner for your roommates (or your family!) from a local restaurant.

  • Need to purchase gifts this holiday season? Shop from small businesses.

  • Create an "emergency kit" for a friend with a few of their favorite snacks and a gift card.

  • Gift a book to a student.

  • Tip your delivery driver 40%.

  • Count the number of tabs you have open. Donate that number of dollars to your favorite charities.

  • Ask the florist for a bouquet that would make someone's day. Then, buy that bouquet for the florist.

  • Give a parent a well-deserved night off. Deliver pizza and a movie to their front door.

  • Send a friend an IOU for a hot beverage to enjoy the next time you're together.

  • Send donuts to a local elementary school faculty room.

  • Support a friend who is doing good work in the world.

There are obviously so many more things you can do this Giving Tuesday. Enjoy!
